It is halfway through the quarter, and the year…! Wow, this year has been flying by and quite
the journey it has been. From starting a
fraternity, to learning a lot about my own writing this quarter. From WP1, I learned that I needed to have a
better structure throughout my entire paper and also tie in my outside
resources. With learning that, I hope I
can have a lot better WP2 (and a better grade!)
This week’s
class on “moves” was actually very interesting because I never really thought
about a writer’s moves before. Prior to
this class, I only thought of moves as a sports term or a as a term used in
board games and such. There is a lot
more to moves, and a lot more to learn about writing moves. I thought it was really cool to apply moves
to the Rock’s move “The People’s Move.” When
people brought up what his move was, it was pretty general and vague. But when Zack told us to be as specific as we
can, a lot more things were brought into what made his move. There were actually like ten different steps
that made up his move when initially we only had a few different things. I thought it was really cool as well that a
move can really be made up of so many different and specific parts. After realizing this, I am hoping that I can
apply that specificity in looking for moves to my WP2.
Working on
PB2B allowed me to get into moves a bit more as well, especially with the
pieces we have read so far. It was
interesting to spot out the different moves they make when I never noticed them
when reading before. I learned that all
author’s have specific moves that mike they’re writing unique and interesting.
