Thlog #1

As we began analyzing genres, I realized that there are many more components to it than I previously realized.  Genres are much more complex and must follow a guideline specific to that genre in order to be that genre all together.  I thought that it was fun when we were in class and trying to find what specific conventions make up the horror genre.  What I found was that we make up a genre by collaborating every memory we have and every experience we have had that has made us scared or what we presume to be "horror" to create what conventions actually make up the horror genre.  Sorry that was a run on sentence but that's the best way I can put it.  I actually really enjoyed this first week being in writing 2.  I like how Zach is very serious about the work we do and our class time but also is a very free-minded and cool person that keeps the class engaged as well as our minds.  I'm excited to see where this quarter takes us as a class as well as myself.  Like I mentioned I am starting a fraternity so that is going to take a lot of work.  I can't wait to see what is in store for myself because unexpected things happen everyday, whether it is meeting new people and experiencing new things, every day is a new experience so I am excited for what is to come.  I assume most people in class are just trying to get through this class because it is a required writing class but I want to enjoy it.  Yeah it is mandatory in order to graduate but I already am learning new topics that I didn't know about that you are very passionate about so I want to make the most of it.  I believe people in life are always just trying to 'get through' things to get to the next thing but the things that you are getting through are your life.  Personally, I want to be as optimistic as I can and believe the best even when that is hard sometimes.  I am just excited for today and every day to come so I'm going to make every day better than the last! Hopefully...Peace and love ya'll...
